Ella Rowdon is a writer, dramaturg, director and facilitator from Hertfordshire, based in London. She studied English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia, and is currently studying for a Masters in Dramaturgy and Writing for Performance at Goldsmiths University of London.

Ella has worked in schools for two years, teaching English in the West Midlands and Drama and Performance in Norwich, before relocating to London. She has since worked as a Drama Practitioner at PQA, where she ran Drama Workshops for children from ages 6-18.

Ella wrote, produced and directed her debut play, Wasp, which was performed in 2022 at the Camden People's Theatre as part of the Camden Fringe, and at the Maddermarket Theatre in Norwich.

Wasp is a play about male suicide and mental health, and received positive acclaim from audience members and reviewers.

As well as studying for her Masters, Ella supports other theatre-makers and writers as a freelance Dramaturg. She also currently works as a freelance Facilitator of theatre workshops and an Operational Lead and Events Coordinator at the London Art Bar, in the hope to inspire young people through the arts.
